Background
The Senior Research Accounting Officer is a key position in the Research & Innovation Finance team responsible for the financial management of research grants. You will be the business partner for the financial management of research grants in specific School(s) in City St George’s. You will provide professional, customer focused advice and support to City St George’s researchers and Schools for the financial management of research grants.

Responsibilities
The main purpose of the role is to provide post award financial administration for a portfolio of research and enterprise projects in the University. The role Senior Research Accounting Officer involves business partnering to budget holders in managing their project budgets. Ensuring timely collection of research income through invoicing, raising claims and funder reporting and ensuring all our research collaborators are paid as per the T&C’s of the grants.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will possess extensive experience and knowledge in a similar role ideally in the higher education sector. You will be able to demonstrate being customer focused, planning and prioritisation, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, alongside proficiency in the use of the Agresso system.

The selection process will involve an interview and a Microsoft Excel based test to check analytical and business partnering skills along with competency in use of MS Excel. Further details will be confirmed at the interview stage.
