Job Title: Senior Research Assistant
Applications are invited for a full-time Senior Research Assistant to take responsibility for data collection on a project investigating spoken language production in children aged 2 - 5 years.
About the Role
- The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Psychology (Centre for Neuroscience in Education) and will be joining a team headed by Professor Usha Goswami (see: http://www.cne.psychol.cam.ac.uk/).
- The position is available from 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Requirements
- Applicants should have a degree in psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, or a related discipline.
- Experience of behavioural testing with toddlers and pre-schoolers is essential, as are good organizational skills.
- Experience of working with linguistic tasks and of data management is also essential.
- Experience of working in the MATLAB environment would be an advantage.
- Applicants will have primary responsibility for preparing, setting up, conducting, and recording the outcome of experiments and will carry out in-person data collection.
- Applicants will coordinate workload and testing schedules across the project team and will analyse and interpret the results of the research.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are required, as is prior experience of autonomous working.

- Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
