Job Description Overview As a Senior Research Engineer, you are expected to lead engineering efforts on complex research projects that advance both applied and theoretical aspects of AI. This role is ideal for individuals who excel at optimizing algorithms, ensuring scalability, and aligning engineering work with ambitious research goals. Senior Research Engineers play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, driving technical excellence, and contributing to impactful research outcomes. Our team operates in two main directions: Applying AI to the design and optimization of semiconductors Conducting fundamental research that supports both our applications and the broader sci-entific community Current areas of interest include large language models (LLMs), optimization methods for deep learning, reinforcement learning (RL), and generative models.

Key Responsibilities Lead engineering efforts on complex research projects in machine learning and artificial in-telligence Optimize algorithms and ensure the scalability and robustness of research prototypes and systems Coordinate closely with researchers to align engineering work with research objectives and project goals Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and research staff Contribute to technical publications and assist in preparing research documentation Maintain and improve research infrastructure, tools, and workflows Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, engineering best practices, and related fields

Main Requirements and Qualifications Extensive experience implementing and optimizing machine learning algorithms and systems Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar Proven ability to lead engineering projects and work both independently and collaboratively Experience mentoring junior engineers or technical staff Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities, including technical documentation

Preferred: Experience with optimization, reinforcement learning, and/or large language models (LLMs) Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX) Experience with scalable system design and deployment in research or production environments Exposure to chip design or applied AI research Track record of contributing to technical publications or open-source projects Ongoing Development Senior Research Engineers are encouraged to continue developing their leadership and technical expertise, seek out new opportunities for innovation, and actively contribute to the team’s strategic goals. Regular feedback, mentorship, and support will be provided to help you maximize your professional growth and impact.
