Senior Research Expert, Technology and Policy (Contract)

Perform by AI is supporting a client in delivering a three-month research study of the technology and innovation landscape in a GCC market. We are engaging senior research experts to carry the analytical core of the study.

DEADLINE

Tuesday, 14 July 2026, 6:00 PM (UAE) / 3:00 PM (UK)

THE ENGAGEMENT

  • Duration: August to November 2026
  • Commitment: 2 to 3 days per week
  • Day rate: USD 800 to 1,500
  • Location: Fully remote

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years in research roles within academia, think tanks, research institutes, or research-led consultancies
  • Publication record or authorship of published studies and reports
  • Delivered ecosystem mapping, landscape analysis, or comparable policy or market studies for government or institutional clients
  • Subject expertise in technology, digital economy, AI, or innovation policy research
  • Research or advisory experience covering the UK, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, or Qatar
  • Legally able to provide services as an independent contractor

  • Shape the research plan: analytical framework, taxonomy, indicators, and benchmarking approach
  • Design and quality-assure research methods, instruments, and informant selection
  • Analyse the assembled evidence and develop findings
  • Validate rigour ahead of client review points and peer-review the principal deliverables
  • Contribute to selected senior stakeholder interviews

PREFERRED

  • Doctoral degree
  • Arabic language proficiency
