Senior Research Fellow Position (0.8FTE)
Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellow position (0.8FTE) within the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. The project will involve the development of an innovative new multiparametric sensor technology to monitor the microbial properties of cattle rumen. The ultimate aim is to design, test and deploy the sensor bolus to measure and reduce methane emissions from cattle.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent professional qualification and experience in a relevant physical/engineering science.
- Detailed knowledge and experience in miniature electrochemical sensor design, fabrication, and testing.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to organize their own research activities effectively, and collaborate successfully across disciplines. The candidate must be a good communicator, expected to take the lead in preparing reports, presenting results to the consortium, and writing research papers. The candidate must also be able to work effectively in a team and organize time, tasks, and responsibilities with other team members.
