If you want to join this innovative and exciting specialty, then we are offering a unique opportunity to work as a Senior Clinical Research Nurse/Practitioner in Team CARES (Cardiac, Anaesthetics, Respiratory, and Surgical Research) within the Research and Development Department, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

This part-time position is for 15 hours a week and will be leading the Cardiac and Cardiothoracic portfolio of studies.

The CARES Team predominantly coordinates the Inpatient acute trials along with long-term follow-up of trial patients. The role involves day-to-day care of participants on clinical studies, including screening, recruitment, and follow-up.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience and support the delivery of research and see first-hand the difference it makes to patients' lives.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

The post holder will provide specialist knowledge, skills, and experience within clinical research, and act as a resource to advise and support those involved in clinical trials at all levels.

The postholder will be able to autonomously plan, implement, organize, and manage concurrent research projects. You will develop networks with Multidisciplinary Teams across the Trust and other appropriate local and national agencies. You'll coordinate and manage the relevant study portfolio and deliver recruitment accrual in line with performance and monitoring objectives.
