Senior Residential Child Care Worker – North Lancashire
Salary: £32,061 - £36,363 per annum* Hours: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week) Location: North Lancashire
Enhancements: Availability for shift work, weekend working, and sleep-in duty

About the Role
As part of the Where Our Children Live programme, our Residential Service is expanding. This initiative focuses on creating safe, supportive homes for children in Lancashire and is central to our broader strategy of modernising and growing residential childcare across the county.
We are looking for dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Senior Residential Child Care Workers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, your role includes:
- Leading by example, including managing shifts as a shift leader.
- Championing the care, safety, and development of children with complex needs.
- Supporting and implementing care plans, education plans, and emotional well-being strategies.
- Mentoring and guiding junior staff members while maintaining high standards of practice.
- Contributing to safeguarding assessments, inspections, and care planning processes.
This role operates on a rotating shift schedule, including:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekends
- Sleep-in duties
Requirements and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should:
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in children’s social care or residential childcare settings.
- Hold a QCF Level 4 qualification or NVQ Level 3/4 (or equivalent).
- Be able to lead shifts and supervise staff effectively as a Team Leader.
- Possess strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and children’s legislation.
- Demonstrate resilience, compassion, and commitment to improving the lives of young people.

- This vacancy follows the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A DBS check will be required before appointment.
