Salary £32,061 - £36,363 per annum*
Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week
North Lancashire
Plus enhancements for shift work, weekend working and sleep-in duty

Senior Residential Child Care Worker
As part of the Where Our Children Live program, our Residential Service is expanding. This initiative is focused on creating safe, supportive homes for Lancashire children and forms a key part of our wider strategy to modernise and expand residential childcare across the county.
As part of this expansion, we have opportunities for dedicated & passionate individuals to join our service as Senior Residential Child Care Workers.

The Children's Residential Service provide a safe, nurturing environment for children in care. Our children cannot live safely with their family due to a variety of reasons and so our team work tirelessly to meet the needs of children within our homes and generate the best outcomes, while keeping them safe from harm.
We pride ourselves in developing positive, meaningful, and lifelong relationships with our children. With an emphasis on working creatively, we promote lots of fun activities for our children inside and outside the homes and ensure that our children and young person are supported to develop in all areas of life.

About The Role...
As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, you will be responsible for leading a team of RCCWs, supporting and caring for the young people in your care.
You Will
- Lead by example, acting as a shift leader.
- Champion the care, safety and development of children with complex needs
- Support and implement care plans, education plans, and emotional wellbeing strategies
- Mentor and guide staff, promoting high standards of practice
- Contribute to safeguarding, inspections, and care planning processes
This role operates on a rota basis, including a mix of days, evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Have at least 3 years’ experience in children’s social care or residential settings
- Hold a QCF Level 4 or NVQ Level 3/4 (or equivalent)
- Be confident leading shifts and supervising staff as a Team Leader
- Have strong knowledge of safeguarding and children’s legislation
- Be resilient, compassionate, and committed to improving outcomes for young people
