Role Description
This full-time, on-site Senior Residential Child Care Worker/Team Leader role is based in Ealing. The position involves leading a small team to provide consistent, person-centered care for children and young people in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and emotional development. The role also includes:
- Liaising with families, social workers, and other professionals
- Coordinating appointments and reviews
- Contributing to staff training and development
The Team Leader is expected to act as a role model, support de-escalation of challenging situations, and promote a positive, stable environment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in childcare and working with children in residential or similar care settings.
- Background in social services or related support work, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience in staff training, mentoring, or team leadership within care or support environments.
- Ability to plan and coordinate structured activities and events that promote development and wellbeing.
- Relevant qualification in health and social care, childcare, or a related field (e.g., Level 3 or above), or equivalent.
- Strong communication, record-keeping, and organizational skills, with the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, and sleep-ins as required for residential care.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards for children’s residential services and commitment to continuous professional development.
