Role Overview
As a Lead Practitioner, you will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic home for children and young people. Alongside building positive relationships, you will provide leadership on shift, supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality care while ensuring children and young people experience stability, opportunity, and a genuine sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate shifts, ensuring the smooth running of the service.
- Support colleagues to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
- Make confident decisions that promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
- Develop and review assessments, care plans, and risk assessments.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, young people, and families.
- Create opportunities for fun, learning, and meaningful experiences.
- Work collaboratively with professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.

About You
- Experienced childcare practitioner passionate about leading a shift and developing the team on shift.
- Understands the importance of relationship-based and trauma-informed practice.
- Resilient, remains calm under pressure, and demonstrates strong decision-making skills.
- Supports and develops colleagues, fostering a positive, collaborative environment.
- Passionate about helping children and young people achieve their potential.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) with a minimum qualification of HNC Social Care and SVQ Level 3.
- A full manual driving licence is essential.
- PVG Scheme membership is required.
