Senior Residential Support Worker Location: Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire Salary: £31,259 - £36,044 per annum (£15.03 per hour) Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established provider supporting children and young people within two Ofsted-rated Good children's homes in Newark-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional looking to progress their career within a supportive and rewarding environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing shifts and supporting Residential Support Workers while providing stability, guidance, and high-quality care to children and young people. The homes accommodate a small number of young people, allowing staff to build strong relationships and deliver person-centred support that promotes positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising shifts and supporting Residential Support Workers
- Acting as a positive role model for young people
- Supporting children and young people to develop life skills and independence
- Encouraging engagement with education, personal development, and activities
- Monitoring and managing behaviours positively and proactively
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Creating and delivering engaging activities
- Supporting staff development and performance
- Working in line with safeguarding, regulatory, and legislative requirements
Shift Pattern
- Double sleep-in shifts
- 7:30am – 10:30pm followed by a sleep-in
- 3-week rolling rota
- One Saturday worked, one Sunday worked, and one weekend off within the rota cycle
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 12 months' experience in residential childcare
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Ability to lead shifts and support staff effectively
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care standards
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over
