Senior Residential Support Worker – Aspris Children’s Services

Our children’s home in Whiston, Rotherham is recruiting Senior Residential Support Workers. We’re seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated professionals to join our supportive team.
In this role, you’ll:
- Provide compassionate care to our young people.
- Support the Registered Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Be an integral part of our team, driving success through dedicated leadership.
About the Home
Our home supports medium to long-term placements for up to 5 young people aged 8 to 19 with:
- Emotional and behavioural difficulties
- ADHD
- Autism

Requirements & Essential Qualifications
To be considered for the role of Senior Residential Support Worker, you must have:
Qualifications
- A Level 3 or 4 Qualification in Children’s Residential Childcare (essential).
Experience
- Previous experience in residential childcare (preferred).
Personal Characteristics
Be prepared to demonstrate:
- Resilience – We work with some of the most challenging young people, who may have emotional, behavioural, and neurodiversity-related needs.
- Strong communication skills – Building trust and effective interactions with young people and your team are key.
- Organisational ability – Tasks will include updating care plans, supervision, and ensuring alignment with safeguarding requirements.
- Caring and compassionate nature – Our young people require the best support, and we need professionals who truly understand and provide care.
- Attentiveness – Every young person is different, and we rely on mindful, responsive support.

Location Requirement
Due to the role’s location, you must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle (transport essential).
Safeguarding Commitment
Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants will undergo:
- Safeguarding screening (including DBS checks).
- Reference checks, covering a minimum of the last 3 years, especially when working with children or vulnerable adults.
