About the Pension Protection Fund (PPF)
At the Pension Protection Fund (PPF), we deliver security in retirement for our members and millions of people across the UK involved in defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. Through the PPF and Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), we compensate members when employer funding becomes insolvent, supporting over 400,000 members and managing assets totalling £30 billion.
Our team of 450+ professionals has been recognised three times as IPE UK Pension Fund of the Year in seven years. We collaborate with government and industry to strengthen retirement security nationwide.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Resilience & Continuity Manager to lead, develop, and embed the PPF’s Operational Resilience and Business Continuity programme. This critical role ensures our approach aligns with regulatory expectations and industry best practice, safeguarding our ability to respond to disruption effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving a culture of operational resilience through close collaboration with senior stakeholders and executive committees (ExCo, Risk & Audit Committee).
- Leading emergency response planning and resilience strategy within the organisation.
- Strengthening the wider risk framework by:
- Leading second-line review and response for operational incidents.
- Identifying and mitigating internal and external threats and risks.
- Ensuring appropriate insurance coverage protects the organisation.
- Providing regular reporting and insights to leadership on resilience performance and improvements.

The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised qualification in Business Continuity (e.g., CBCI) or Operational Risk Management (e.g., IRM certification).
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining business continuity and operational resilience frameworks, ideally within financial or professional services.
- Strong ability to lead/influence teams through project delivery, direct or indirect management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the capability to communicate complex resilience concepts clearly at a senior level.
About You (Required Skills & Experience)
- Qualified professional in a relevant field (e.g., Business Continuity, Operational Risk Management).
- Industry experience preferred: financial services or complex organisational risk environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in risk, continuity or resilience roles.
- Strong analytical thinking, with expertise in threat assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating resilience strategies for executive engagement.
