About the Role
This critical role sits within Group Finance and plays a vital part in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and communication of the Group’s key performance metrics. As the Senior Results Reporting Accountant, you will:
- Provide deep subject-matter expertise on Group performance metrics
- Support robust results production
- Ensure clear, high-quality explanations of performance to senior stakeholders and external markets
- Report to the Head of Group Results and Analysis
- Collaborate regularly with senior finance and business leaders
Main Responsibilities
- Act as a subject-matter expert on the methodology behind key Group metrics, with a strong understanding of IFRS 17, including:
- Adjusted operating profit and Operating change in CSM
- Capital Generation and Solvency II
- AUMA and flows
- Support the quarterly production of Group results across all relevant metrics, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and logical linkages between measures. This includes the preparation of results packs and associated analysis.
- Assist the Head of Group Results and Analysis in applying metric methodologies to new products, business segments, and transactions, ensuring impacts are understood and correctly reflected in Group metrics.
- Develop a deep understanding of planning assumptions across all Group metrics that influence forecasts and the outturn process, challenging inputs to align forecasts with actuals when necessary.
- Draft narrative sections for:
- Semi-annual business and financial reviews
- Q1 and Q3 trading updates These narratives must clearly explain performance and movements in key metrics for market announcements.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on assigned Group reporting metrics, providing confident discussions on methodology, assumptions, and results with senior stakeholders.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
You will need:
- Ability to develop an in-depth understanding of Group performance metrics and their business management applications.
- Strong grasp of IFRS 17 and Solvency II reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting Group-level results production and performance analysis.
- Ability to apply complex methodologies to evolving business activities.
- Strong analytical skills, data interpretation, and clear explainability.
- Proven capability to produce high-quality written narratives for both internal and external audiences.
