Location: Purley, Surrey (near Croydon)
Salary: £40,000–£43,000
Working Pattern: 4 days in the studio | 1 day working from home
Contract: Permanent
The Opportunity
The Fix Creative is recruiting on behalf of a long-established creative agency specialising in FMCG branding and packaging. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Retoucher & AI Image Specialist to join a highly talented image production team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on producing exceptional, production-ready imagery while embracing the latest AI technology to enhance creative workflows.
Please note: This role is based in the studio four days per week, with one day working from home.
The Role
This is a hands-on production role where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality retouching and image production across packaging, food & beverage, beauty, FMCG and brand communications.
Working alongside designers, artworkers, photographers, CGI specialists and account teams, you’ll create accurate, consistent and production-ready imagery while using AI tools to enhance efficiency and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
Retouching & Image Production
- Deliver exceptional retouching across packaging, branding and campaign projects.
- Produce complex compositing, colour correction, image reconstruction, texture work and photorealistic image enhancement.
- Create high-quality product, ingredient and lifestyle imagery for packaging and brand communications.
- Ensure imagery is consistent with brand guidelines and approved creative direction.
- Prepare artwork to meet print production standards and technical specifications.
- Maintain exceptional colour accuracy and attention to detail.
- Create product mock-ups, visualisations and presentation imagery.
- Organise and maintain image libraries and working assets.

AI Image Creation
- Use AI image-generation and enhancement tools as part of professional production workflows.
- Create, adapt and refine AI-generated imagery to meet creative and technical requirements.
- Combine traditional retouching, photography, CGI and AI-generated assets to produce believable final imagery.
- Explore new AI tools and workflows that improve quality and efficiency.
- Share knowledge and best practice with the wider creative team.
- Ensure AI is used responsibly, maintaining quality, copyright and confidentiality standards.
Collaboration & Quality
- Work closely with designers and creative leads to achieve the desired visual outcome.
- Collaborate with artwork and production teams to ensure imagery reproduces accurately in print.
- Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of final imagery.
- Support colleagues with technical retouching challenges.
- Manage multiple projects within a fast-paced agency environment.
- Contribute ideas to improve image production processes and workflows.
About You
You’re an experienced retoucher with exceptional technical ability, a sharp eye for detail and genuine enthusiasm for emerging AI technology.
You enjoy working in a collaborative agency environment, can manage multiple deadlines and consistently produce outstanding creative work.

Essential Experience
This is the key requirement for the role. Candidates must have:
- Commercial FMCG packaging retouching experience gained within a packaging, branding, advertising or creative agency. Applications without FMCG packaging retouching experience are unlikely to be considered.
- Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills.
- Extensive experience in compositing, colour correction, image reconstruction and photorealistic image enhancement.
- Practical experience using AI image-generation or image-enhancement tools within creative workflows.
- Strong understanding of colour, lighting, texture, perspective and image realism.
- Knowledge of packaging design, print production and colour management.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a creative team.
Desirable Experience
- Food, beverage, beauty or wider FMCG brand experience.
- Experience integrating CGI or 3D-rendered assets into photographic imagery.
- Packaging mock-ups and product visualisation experience.
- Interest in workflow automation and emerging creative technologies.
