Responsible for delivering primarily the reward agenda in our Centrica Energy Trading business. Delivering key projects spanning the whole reward team to support effective delivery of the full Centrica Reward plan ensuring that our Reward arrangements are competitive, fair, simple and sustainable whilst enabling the business units to meet their strategic goals.

Salary: Competitive + car allowance + bonus + private healthcare + generous company benefits

Location: UK flexible with travel as required

Flexible work arrangements available, including part-time options

This is a 12 month secondment / Fixed Term Contractor position

Accountabilities

  • Accountable for a variety of Reward projects relating to critical reward programmes, including benchmarking, market insight, business unit reward reviews, incentive design and policy changes
  • Provide direction and guidance to Centrica Energy Trading on annual cyclical programmes such as bonus, base pay reviews and collective pay agreements
  • Partner with the business to understand business challenges in relation to reward frameworks
  • Take accountability for defining scope and securing the right resources for key projects
  • Ensure relevant business and HR stakeholders are identified and engaged
  • Influencing and guiding stakeholders to a solution with the wider Centrica reward strategy/principles in mind and the ability to join the dots across the business
  • Responsible for end to end implementation of key projects and initiatives
  • Fully own key reward items within the broader HR plan ensuring wider Reward team are engaged as appropriate
  • Act as escalation point for complex reward queries
  • Sufficient awareness to proactively identify areas of concern or latest trends externally and recommend solutions and/or actions
  • Ensuring that the Centrica Energy Trading reward offering is underpinned with the appropriate governance, policies and processes, which are transparent and equitable and in-line with local country laws and regulatory requirements.

Competencies

  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to extract insight from data & explain these to audiences simply and succinctly
  • Strong influencing, presenting and communication skills
  • Strong intellectual rigour and an appetite for professional development
  • Commercial acumen and broad business understanding
  • Track record of building successful, collaborative relationships across all levels and business functions
  • A skilful team player with the ability to network effectively up, down and across the organisation
  • Effective project management decision making skills
  • Intermediate IT Skills (inc MS office, excel and Workday)

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working in the Financial Services or Trading industry is essential
  • Knowledge and experience of reward practices including job evaluations, market data, salary structures, terms & conditions, incentive design and benefits
  • Proven experience of owning, leading and delivering significant change in an HR/Reward context
  • Experience of developing plans to deliver projects and managing to completion
  • An understanding of how to review and develop ideas/approaches to solve reward related issues
  • Experience of partnering within a complex business environment
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment desirable
  • Graduate Level or equivalent experience
  • CIPD qualification desirable
