Job Description
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electronic Systems Engineer to support the delivery of complex, security sensitive engineering programmes. This role requires a high level of autonomy. Candidates are expected to join with the pre-requisite skills, experience and professional judgement to rapidly contribute and deliver meaningful technical outputs with minimal supervision. In parallel, the role involves supporting and guiding less experienced members of the engineering team, setting good technical and professional standards.
The position is hands-on and design-led, combining electronic systems engineering, software and signal processing within defence and government linked programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development and verification of advanced electronic systems, from concept through to delivery.
- Undertake hands on electronic design engineering, including system level trade-offs and detailed design.
- Develop and maintain software components and engineering tools, with Python as a core programming language.
- Apply strong signal processing expertise, including analysis, algorithm development and performance evaluation.
- Support system architecture activities, requirements capture, design justification and technical documentation.
- Contribute to verification, validation and test activities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring, supporting the development of less experienced engineers.
- Operate effectively on defence, security or government linked programmes, following secure development practices.
- Interface with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
- Support technical reviews, demonstrations and (where appropriate) proposal or bid activities.
- Work within export control, information assurance and security constraints.
