Our client is a major UK defence and security technology business working across advanced mission systems, RF communications, cyber and intelligence programmes. They are looking for a Senior RF Engineer to support the development, test and analysis of RF systems used in complex, high-impact environments.
This is a varied role, suited to someone who wants to work across real RF systems rather than being boxed into one narrow area. The work can involve:
- RF circuit modelling
- Antenna selection and optimisation
- SDR development
- RF test and measurement
- Vulnerability analysis
- The development of deployable RF technologies

As a Senior RF Engineer, you will be involved in the design, analysis, testing and verification of RF systems across a range of defence and security applications. Depending on your background, this could include:
- Hands-on lab work
- Simulation
- System development
- Field trial support
- Specialist tool development for RF system analysis
They are looking for experience in areas such as:
- RF communications systems
- RF circuit design or modelling
- Antenna selection or characterisation
- RF test and measurement using equipment such as spectrum analysers, VNAs or vector signal analysers

Experience with SDRs, GNU Radio, OpenCPI, Python, C/C++, VHDL, Linux or DSP would also be highly relevant.
Although advertised as a Senior RF Engineer role, our client is open to speaking with RF Engineers at various levels, particularly those with strong hands-on experience across RF systems, SDRs, antennas, test or vulnerability analysis.
This role is based in Gloucester and requires DV clearance. Salary is £72,500 to £90,000, plus benefits and bonus.
