Senior Market Risk Analyst

Leeds | Hybrid (2 days per week) | Up to £60,000

The Opportunity

A growing UK energy business is seeking a Senior Market Risk Analyst to join its Leeds-based risk team.

This is a high-profile role offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders across Risk, Commercial, Finance, and Trading functions. It's well suited to someone with a background in Market Risk, Analytics, Quantitative Analysis, or Data Science who wants to apply their technical expertise in a commercially focused environment.

While this is an individual contributor position with no direct people management responsibilities, it offers excellent visibility and long-term progression into broader Risk, Commercial, or Trading roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and enhance core market risk reporting processes.
  • Monitor trading positions, hedging activity, and risk limits.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc analysis, including:
    • Value at Risk (VaR)
    • Variance analysis
    • Market exposure reporting
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement of risk reporting.
  • Support risk system development and reporting enhancements during ongoing system transitions.
  • Assess commercial opportunities from a market risk perspective.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Commercial, and Trading teams.
  • Maintain and improve risk controls, processes, and documentation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
