Birchrose Associates is working with a prestigious London law firm in the search for a Senior Risk & Compliance Manager to join their Risk & Compliance team on a permanent basis.

The Opportunity
The successful Senior Risk & Compliance Manager will work closely with the firm's Risk & Compliance Director and wider team, supporting a broad range of regulatory, compliance and risk management activities across the firm.
This is a varied role offering exposure to strategic projects, regulatory advisory work and day-to-day operational risk matters.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing client Outside Counsel Guidelines, reviewing contractual arrangements and supporting compliance through the firm's onboarding systems
- Advising on conflicts of interest matters, undertaking initial conflict analysis and providing guidance on SRA Code of Conduct requirements
- Assisting with complaints handling, including preparing correspondence, liaising with internal stakeholders and supporting matters involving the Legal Ombudsman and SRA where required
- Providing guidance to fee earners on professional conduct, regulatory obligations and risk management queries
- Drafting, reviewing and maintaining internal risk management policies and procedures
- Supporting document production requests from clients, regulators and third parties
- Conducting ongoing internal file reviews to ensure compliance with firm-wide quality and regulatory standards
- Supporting the firm's ISO9001 Quality Management System and assisting with wider ISO compliance initiatives
- Supporting the firm's Responsible Business and ESG-related compliance obligations

Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent overseas-qualified lawyer with an unrestricted right to practise
- Qualified lawyer with minimum 4 years' PQE
- Experience gained within the Risk & Compliance function or as a fee earner within an English law firm
- Strong working knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct and wider regulatory framework
- Knowledge of AML, sanctions, source of funds, PEPs and data protection legislation would be advantageous
