Computershare have an up-and-coming opportunity for a Senior Risk Consultant to join our Global Risk Group.
Computershare operates a number of Global businesses which are accountable and responsible for identifying and managing the risks relevant to their business. The Global Risk Group provides the framework (policies, processes, tools and expertise) to facilitate and oversee the management of risk in accordance with the Board approved Enterprise Risk Framework.

A Role You Will Love
The Senior Risk Consultant is part of the Global Risk Group, part of Computershare’s second line of defence. The role supports, monitors and oversees the implementation of the risk management framework within the UK Entity and the Global Plans business line.
Partnering with specific business stakeholders to ensure that risks are identified, assessed, and treated in line with the globally set risk appetite. The role holder will not only oversee the operational element of risk management but will also support the implementation of strategic risk projects, acting as advisor and consultant to businesses and championing risk management.
This is a senior position responsible for supporting and overseeing the business in the execution of their risk management responsibilities as set out in the Enterprise Risk Framework, as approved by the Board of Directors.
Some Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the independent 2nd line risk coverage for the UK Entity and the Global Plans business line acting as a constructive, and where appropriate, challenging partner to the business.
- Supporting and overseeing business in the execution of their risk management responsibilities, as set out within the CPU Enterprise Risk Framework (included but not limited to - loss events, risk and control self-assessment, top risk, risk appetite and risk metrics).
- Delivering on and sometimes managing strategic/change risk programmes driven globally.
- Supporting and overseeing third party risk, third party due diligence, outsourcing and inter-company agreements relevant to the UK entity and the Global Plans business line.
- Partnering with colleagues within the Global Risk Group to support and oversee technology risk and operational resilience management in partnership with the respective functional heads.
- Support the operational development of the GRC tool and delivering training to the first line businesses where necessary.
- Create and manage the end-to-end delivery of data and commentary required for formal risk reports used in various governance forums and committees relating to the Global Plans business line and UK entities.
- Promoting risk management in a maturing and diverse global business.
- Undertake independent 2nd line assurance of the adequacy and effectiveness of Computershare's management of its risks, controls and processes for the areas and functions you partner with.

What Will You Bring to the Role?
The Senior Risk Consultant requires previous experience of risk advisory, legal, audit or compliance. A full understanding of the three lines of defence and how the framework is executed in a large organisation is essential.
The role requires successful experience of being a risk manager and good knowledge of the operational, financial, and regulatory complexities impacting the business from strategic, operational and change perspectives.
You will have proven experience in risk management policies, processes, and tools. Alongside a background in leading and delivering risk and control assessments and a demonstrated ability to perform process analysis and designing controls.
The position holder is expected to be able to develop solutions as part of a global team with an aggressive change agenda. Requiring strong analytical thinking skills including the ability to research and understand complex processes and effectively communicate them to senior management.
Other Key Skills Required for the Role
- In-depth understanding of the Plans and Issuer business lines, as well as other shared service areas relevant to the UK entity, operational processes, objectives and strategic plans.
- Extensive experience of working within management, with mid-to senior level stakeholders.
- Personal integrity, the ability to lead a small team and management of specific tasks and activities.
- Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines, managing changing and conflicting priorities.
- Adept at making decisions guided by clear policies and procedures.
- Capable and confident in playing a significant role in contributing to the deployment of a Global Risk programme.
- Gravitas and the capability to provide constructive challenge to the business and ensure risks are addressed appropriately.
- Developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster a collaborative working relationship with multiple areas and complex business lines.
