Senior Risk Manager

Shape The Future Of Complex Projects In Nuclear And Clean Energy

About the Role

At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re advancing a safer, more secure world through cutting-edge projects in nuclear and clean energy. As a Senior Risk Manager, you’ll lead risk and opportunity management for high-impact projects, ensuring robust decision-making across the full project lifecycle while aligning with business and commercial needs.


Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Developing and implementing project risk and opportunity management plans, tailored to business and commercial requirements.
  • Conducting risk analysis and producing clear, actionable reports with tailored recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Building and assuring advanced quantitative risk models, covering cost, schedule, and uncertainty analysis.
  • Managing contingency buffers and aligning risks with financial and commercial objectives. -Designing training and guidance materials to embed best practice risk management across project teams.

Hours: *37 hrs/week (Mon–Fri), based at [Leicester/Bristol/Warrington] with travel to [Cavendish/client sites] expected.


Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in risk management within a highly regulated sector (e.g., nuclear, defence, or large-scale infrastructure).
  • Ability to apply advanced risk modelling techniques, including quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis.
  • Experience developing and maintaining robust risk models to support project delivery.
  • Hands-on Knowledge of project lifecycle risk and opportunity management.
  • Familiarity with key contracting methodologies such as FIDIC, NEC3/NEC4, or JCT.

Desirable

  • Formal risk management or project management qualification.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM Project Controls) would be advantageous.

Essential Security Clearance

A BPSS Standard (SC) clearance is required for this role. Eligibility subject to UK Security Vetting standards.
