About the Role
As Senior Risk Manager within our client’s London P&C Risk Management team, you will report directly to the UK Chief Risk Officer and serve as a key liaison for other Senior leaders across the UK.
This position requires you to lead the continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework for both the UK business and the Syndicate while ensuring alignment with internal, commercial, and external/regulatory expectations.
Core Responsibilities
You will:
- Coordinate second-line assessment and monitoring of the control environment.
- Provide challenging input to stakeholders' risk and control self-assessments.
- Produce impactful reporting for the Executive Committee and Board on risk-related matters.
- Act as a key contact for first-line risk management stakeholders in supported entities and wider Group Risk Management teams.
- Lead or contribute to Group Risk Management projects and analysis, in collaboration with international Risk colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
Risk Management Framework & Monitoring
- Assess and monitor risk and control environment in partnership with the Group Operational Risk team.
- Oversee exposure monitoring against risk appetite and limits.
- Lead second-line risk assessments (qualitative and quantitative).
- Track incidents and control issues, performing root cause analysis.
- Coordinate development of operational risk models and scenarios.
Risk Reporting & Governance
- Develop, maintain, and refine risk registers, dashboards, and risk metrics using data analytics.
- Support regulatory and audit compliance, and contribute to external risk reporting as required.
Business Collaboration
- Advise the business on risk identification, mitigation, and controls in tandem with the Group Operational Risk team.
- Challenger risk culture by assessing and validating first-line risk assessments.
Additional Duties
- Lead or participate in local and Group risk projects.
- Collaborate with the business to identify and analyze emerging risk trends.

Requirements
Experience
- Demonstrated risk management experience with growing levels of accountability.
- Specialized knowledge in Property & Casualty (re)insurance, ideally within the London Market, covering Company and Lloyd’s environments.
- Familiarity with UK regulatory risk management principles, including:
- Risk analysis & standards
- Operational risk management
- ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment)
- Governance best practices

- Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.
- Clear and concise written/verbal communication.
- Deep understanding of risk frameworks and governance.
- Proven stakeholder management across functions.
- Ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proficient in project management, delivering within deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.
- Pragmatic problem-solving skills.
Note: This is a 6-month role within a hybrid work arrangement.
