Senior Room Leader – Nursery – East Malling

Role Description

The Senior Room Leader – Nursery is a full-time, on-site position based in East Malling. In this role, the Senior Room Leader will:

  • Oversee the daily operation of a nursery room, including:
    • Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities
    • Supervising childcare practitioners
    • Ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing

  • Observe and record children’s development, while maintaining accurate documentation and communicating regularly with families about:

    • Progress updates
    • Concerns raised
  • Support the implementation of nursery policies, coordinate staffing and routines, and ensure compliance with:

    • Relevant childcare standards
    • Safeguarding protocols
  • Mentor team members, contribute to staff meetings, and help create a:

    • Positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for children and colleagues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

  • Relevant childcare and early years education qualifications (e.g., Level 3 or above in Early Years or Childcare)
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development
  • Proven experience in:
    • Leading a nursery room
    • Staff supervision
    • Room planning
    • Managing day-to-day operations
