About The Role

The Senior Safeguarding Officer plays a vital role in strengthening safeguarding practices across Place2Be, a leading children’s mental health charity. Working closely with the Head and Deputy Head of Safeguarding, this role helps ensure the organisation meets its safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults by:

This dynamic position blends operational oversight, training delivery, and service development, enabling you to influence wider organisational practices while supporting multi-agency collaboration and securing better outcomes for children and young people.

We seek a candidate with managerial experience and safeguarding knowledge specifically within an education setting.

Our mission at Place2Be is clear: we believe every child deserves accessible mental health support. We provide a trusted space within schools where young people can open up without stigma, supported by a diverse team of skilled counsellors. This is an opportunity to change lives.

This vacancy covers maternity leave from: 1st October 2026 to 30th November 2027 (14 months).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver safeguarding training for staff, volunteers, and partner schools
  • Support the implementation of safeguarding policies across multiple sites
  • Oversee collaboration with external agencies on complex safeguarding cases
  • Monitor trends and provide strategic recommendations to improve organisational safeguarding practice

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
