The Role

The Senior Sales Development Representative plays a pivotal role in driving business growth by identifying, engaging, and nurturing prospective clients through proactive outbound prospecting and inbound engagement across multiple channels—phone, email, social platforms, and events.

This position demands execution, strategy, curiosity, resilience, and personal accountability to build a strong, qualified pipeline for the sales organisation.

A successful Senior SDR will:

  • Confidently engage senior decision-makers.
  • Understand client needs and challenges.
  • Position Azets’ services in a way that resonates and adds value.

Key Accountabilities

1. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Sales Managers and Directors to ensure smooth handover and progression of qualified opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing colleagues to align outreach with campaign priorities and messaging.
  • Share market insights, prospect feedback, and performance trends with stakeholders for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

2. Operational Delivery

  • Proactively identify, research, and engage target accounts across key industries (e.g., professional services, real estate & construction, healthcare, manufacturing, technology).
  • Execute multi-channel outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn outreach, event engagement) to secure meetings with senior decision-makers such as CFOs, Finance Directors, HR Directors, and Business Owners.
  • Conduct initial discovery conversations to qualify prospects against Azets’ ideal client profile.
  • Effectively position Azets’ services to address client needs and pain points.
  • Maintain high outbound activity levels, achieving weekly and monthly performance targets.

3. Organisational Design & Effectiveness

  • Contribute to improving the Sales Development function by sharing best practices and supporting peer collaboration.
  • Strengthen alignment between Sales, Marketing, and Business Development to enhance pipeline generation and conversion.

4. Functional Operational Excellence & Innovation

  • Ensure accurate and timely logging of activities, contacts, and CRM notes.
  • Track, report, and analyse KPIs, including outreach volume, meetings booked, and pipeline contribution.
  • Continuously refine prospecting techniques with innovative approaches and tools.

5. Strategy & Planning

  • Support campaign planning aligned with Azets’ growth priorities.
  • Provide insights for target account selection and segment prioritisation, based on industry trends and client demand.
  • Contribute frontline insights to inform broader go-to-market strategies.

Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Technical Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of outbound prospecting techniques and B2B sales cycles.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

Experience

  • Proven success in Sales Development, Business Development, or Inside Sales roles.
  • Track record of generating qualified opportunities through outbound engagement.
  • Experience engaging senior decision-makers (e.g., Finance, HR, Operations leadership).

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to tailor conversations to buyer personas.
