This role can be based in our UK&I offices or be fully home-based.
About the Role
The Senior Sales Manager, Asset Management (Northern Europe) will lead our Asset Management (AM) sales team, securing new business opportunities across Northern Europe for onshore/offshore wind, solar, battery storage, and hydrogen—as well as ancillary services like Portfolio Management, Advisory, Data & Analytics, and 24/7/365 Control Room operations.
You’ll coordinate senior sales leadership across the region, collaborate with regional AM leads (technical, commercial, and financial), and drive bid discipline while supporting Sales Managers through mentorship and peer reviews. Working under the direction of the Regional AM Head, you’ll contribute to strategic contract wins and foster cross-selling opportunities for RES Services (O&M and Digital Solutions).
This role requires technical, commercial, and financial acuity, a strong focus on client relationships, and the ability to streamline sales processes for cost-effective and scalable growth.
Organisational Context
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight – Align Northern Europe sales efforts with regional and international AM goals, ensuring focus on high-priority opportunities and optimal resource allocation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with:
- Regional AM Head
- AM Sales Support Team
- Sales Managers & cross-regional AM colleagues
- Technical, financial, and strategic business leads (Procurement, Risk, Legal)
- External stakeholders (key accounts, new clients, contractors)
- RES Services Marketing & internal teams (O&M, Digital Solutions, Engineering, Finance, Legal)
- Bid & Strategy Development – Contribute to cost modelling, profitability analysis, and client-focused service refinement.
- Process Improvement – Drive bid efficiency, standardisation, and cost discipline for AM contracts.

Operational Accountabilities
- Execute and refine the regional AM sales growth strategy, ensuring alignment with global initiatives.
- Drive sales planning and delivery, supporting Sales Managers’ targets with focussed activity.
- Build and nurture client relationships, including presentation development, bid submissions, and strategic account engagement.
- Manage opportunities from initial enquiry to contract signature, coordinating with AM leadership for transition.
- Enforce robust bid processes, ensuring compliance, quality, and commercial viability prior to submission.
- Peers manage bids and tender reviews, escalating critical decisions to the Regional AM Head.
- Track & report Sales KPIs, analysing performance and opportunities in collaboration with leadership.
- Ensure compliance with internal approval processes for all AM sales opportunities.
- Leverage CRM systems (Salesforce) for accurate opportunity tracking, customer data, and project management.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities for O&M, Digital Solutions, and other RES Services.
- Foster continuous improvement through customer/team feedback and strategy iteration.
- Represent RES externally, attending industry conferences and networking events.
Additional Requirements:
- Regional/International travel for client engagement and market visibility.
- Active participation in GEMS-M business development forums to strengthen RES positioning.
Key Knowledge Areas
- Expertise in B2B sales and marketing plans for service-based industries.
- Renewable energy market knowledge – particularly AM clients, competitors, and contractors.
- Understanding of sales processes for asset management in wind, solar, storage, and hydrogen.
- Key Account Management (KAM) principles and long-term client engagement strategies.
- Awareness of contractual terms in Asset Management (e.g., operational agreements, SLAs).

- Strategic & Analytical Strengths – Deep numerical analysis for cost modelling, contract profitability, and market trend evaluation.
- Attention to Detail – Rigorous bid & tender review to ensure competitiveness.
- Research & Strategic Insight – Proactively identify market opportunities and client needs.
- Organisational Excellence – Manage multiple simultaneous tenders and tight deadlines with precision.
- Tech Proficiency – Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
Required Experience
- Proven track record in B2B sales (services sector preferred, especially renewable energy).
- Tender & proposal development – Experience in preparing, reviewing, and bidding on service contracts.
- Market-facing sales roles in wind/solar/storage renewable energy or adjacent sectors.
- Cross-functional collaboration – Experience working with technical, commercial, or financial teams.
Desirable Qualifications & Qualities
- Degree in business, engineering, management, or related field—or exceptional experience in sales/operations may suffice.
- Commercial acumen in contract negotiation and client advocacy.
