The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Senior Salesforce Developer to join our technology team at our Birmingham City Centre offices.
In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of our Salesforce platform — the engine that powers how our teams deliver outstanding experiences for students and university partners alike. You will work closely with key internal stakeholders and liaise with third-party development teams, ensuring the platform continues to evolve in line with the needs of a dynamic, fast-growing organisation.
This is far more than a purely technical position. You will be a valued contributor to the wider business, helping shape the way technology supports our people and the students we serve.

What You'll Be Responsible For
- Delivering continuous Salesforce enhancements and new functionality in line with business priorities
- Overseeing day-to-day Salesforce administration and providing platform support to internal teams
- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve workflows and implementing effective, scalable solutions
- Investigating data integrity issues, determining root causes, and ensuring sustainable resolutions are put in place
- Acting as the technical point of contact when collaborating with third-party development partners
- Leading walkthroughs and demonstrations of new features for both new and existing members of staff, ensuring confident platform adoption across the business.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Technical Skills
We are seeking a Salesforce professional who brings both technical depth and a genuine passion for what the platform can achieve. To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 4–6 years of experience working within the CRM domain
- 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development and implementation experience
- Proven expertise across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Community Cloud
- Strong command of Apex development, including triggers, classes, and test methods
- Proficiency in Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura components, and Visualforce
- Solid working knowledge of SOQL and SOSL
- Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, along with integrating third-party systems via oAuth and REST APIs
- A thorough understanding of Salesforce governor limits, security best practices, and custom development standards
- Demonstrated ability to maintain data consistency between Salesforce and integrated partner systems

You will report directly to the Salesforce Platform Manager and build strong working relationships with colleagues across the business, including:
- IT Operations & Support and the wider IT team
- Student Operations and Sales teams
- Reporting Analysts who depend on accurate, well-structured data
- University partners and a range of external vendors and service providers
Your expertise will be sought after at every level — from the technical team to the wider business stakeholders who rely on Salesforce to perform at their best.
