About Maxion

Maxion is revolutionising biologics by leveraging knottins, nature’s most potent modulators of ion channels and G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). By combining knottins with the drug properties of antibodies, we are developing transformative treatments with unmatched specificity and durability for patients with ion channel- and GPCR-driven diseases. Primarily targeting immunological diseases, heart disorders, and chronic pain, our KnotBody® pipeline is pioneering** progress due to its potential to engage previously untapped therapeutic targets.

Founded in 2020 by visionary biotech entrepreneurs and scientists:

  • Dr John McCafferty (CTO)
  • Dr Aneesh Karatt-Vellatt (CSO)

Dr McCafferty was a co-inventor of antibody phage display, a technology central to the 2018 Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to Sir Gregory Winter.

Maxion is backed by leading international investors and operates near Cambridge, UK, within a team of experts in antibody-based drug discovery and development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
