Role Contribution

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach to guide Agile teams and support organizational transformation initiatives. This role focuses on enabling high-performing teams, fostering an Agile mindset, and driving continuous improvement across the enterprise. The successful candidate will play a key role in coaching teams, mentoring leaders, and supporting the adoption and scaling of Agile practices.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives).
  • Remove impediments and shield teams from external disruptions.
  • Coach and mentor teams, Product Owners, junior Scrum Masters and leadership on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and SAFe processes.
  • Support Agile transformation initiatives, including training, workshops, and change management activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment of Agile practices with business objectives.
  • Track and analyze Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, lead time) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers to manage cross-team dependencies.
  • Advocate for Agile best practices and contribute to the growth of the Agile community within the organization.
  • You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

About You

You combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to enable Agile success, and can:

Requirements

  • Specialty (re)insurance or financial services industry experience.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, including proven experience in Agile Coaching.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Agile transformation efforts at team or organizational level.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile tools (Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps).
  • Proven ability to mentor teams and leadership to achieve Agile maturity.
  • Experience with scaling frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS.

  • Advanced Agile certifications (e.g., ICP-ACC, SAFe Program Consultant).

Role Factors

In this role, you will be required to be in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week on average.

Compensation and Benefits

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $52,000 - $87,000 CAD (Halifax, Nova Scotia). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location. You will be eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid annual leave, and much more.
