Senior Security Assurance Specialist

Official role title: Senior Information Risk Assurer

Highly Remote | 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract | £65,365

Some security professionals tell projects why they can't do something. Others help teams deliver secure solutions.

We're looking for the second type.

This is a senior technical role for someone who enjoys working alongside architects, engineers and delivery teams, helping shape secure technology from the outset rather than reviewing it once decisions have already been made.

You'll challenge where you need to, but you'll also be pragmatic, collaborative and focused on helping projects succeed. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, influencing technical decisions and building trusted relationships, we'd like to hear from you.

The role

As a Senior Information Risk Assurer, you'll play a key role in supporting major technology and digital transformation programmes across a complex operational environment.

You'll work closely with architects, engineers, suppliers and project teams, providing trusted security advice throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.

Your work will include:

  • Reviewing solution designs
  • Assessing technical risks
  • Supporting Secure by Design
  • Advising on cloud technologies
  • Helping ensure security is considered from the earliest stages of every project

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll also contribute to security assurance activities across existing services, mentor colleagues and help raise security capability across the wider organisation.

This is a role where your ability to influence is every bit as important as your technical expertise.

You'll probably enjoy this role if...

  • You prefer working with delivery teams rather than simply reviewing documentation.
  • You enjoy influencing technical decisions without needing formal authority.
  • You can explain security clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You're known for finding practical solutions rather than simply identifying problems.
  • You like building relationships and becoming a trusted adviser.

We're looking for experience in areas such as:

  • Security Assurance, Information Security or Technical Information Assurance
  • Secure by Design and security throughout the project lifecycle
  • Working closely with architects, engineers or technical delivery teams
  • Technical risk assessment and security design reviews
  • Cloud technologies and modern digital services
  • Applying frameworks such as NIST Cyber Security Framework or ISO 27001 in practice
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or similar are welcome, but we're far more interested in how you've applied your knowledge than the number of certifications you hold.
