About the Position
UK or EU (Remote) | £75k per annum | Permanent
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Security Automation Developer to lead the development and expansion of our Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) platform. This role is pivotal in streamlining security operations, enhancing incident response, and ensuring seamless integration across diverse systems. You will design, implement, and maintain automations, integrations, and playbooks that empower security teams to respond faster and smarter.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOAR playbooks, automations, jobs, and workflows.
- Integrate security tools and platforms (SIEM, EDR, AI tools, firewalls, ticketing systems, threat intelligence platforms) with SOAR via APIs.
- Collaborate with security operations teams to define and optimize processes.
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce response times.
- Document processes, playbooks, and technical solutions clearly and comprehensively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with integrations, automations, jobs, and playbooks.
- Stay current with SOAR updates and implement upgrades.
- Manage security settings, user roles, and permissions within the SOAR platform.

Required Technical Competencies
- Proven experience with SOAR platforms (preferably Chronicle SOAR).
- Advanced proficiency in Python (4+ years).
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API integration.
- Skilled in handling and parsing JSON, XML, and CSV data formats.
- Experience integrating security and IT systems (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, ticketing).
- Ability to write and maintain automation scripts.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Familiarity with AI tools and platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services.
- Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in security automation or related field.
- Relevant certifications (PCSAE, CISSP, Security+) are advantageous.
