Senior Security Consultant – Malicious Risk and Risk Management Strategy
About the Role

The Security Advisory stream provides essential expertise across the region and globally, supporting clients in various sectors through a comprehensive suite of services:
- Threat and risk analysis
- Threat, vulnerability, and risk assessment
- Security intelligence, including tailored security intelligence analysis and threat briefings
- Travel risk assessment
- Strategic security design
- Regulatory and policy affairs (including aviation security)
- Operational security advice
This opportunity exists for a Senior Security Consultant with a focus on malicious risk and associated risk management strategies within the Resilience, Security & Risk team, based in the UKIMEA region.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic consultancy practice offering tailored security solutions. Our services include:
- Security Risk Assessment
- Security Strategy Development
- Security Operations & Governance
- Security Culture & Awareness Programmes
Our work spans critical sectors, including: Transport (Rail, Aviation, Maritime), Infrastructure (Energy, Water, Data), and Property (Sports venues, Government Property, Healthcare).
Key Responsibilities
You will collaborate across disciplines, working alongside Security Advisory, Resilience specialists, and design teams to:
- Lead Security Risk Assessments and project management, including team coordination and client engagement.
- Define and deliver projects, managing scopes, timelines, and budgets while aligning with client needs.
- Evaluate and mitigate security risks in asset design and operations, engaging with regulators and stakeholders.
- Shape internal methodologies and service offerings, which may include:
- Developing innovative project delivery models.
- Creating tailored product offerings aligned with market demands.
- Develop our client pipeline by actively engaging in project and commercial management to secure fee-generating work.
- Contribute to strategic direction, ensuring our security advisory aligns with evolving industry needs.
- Direct client interactions, primarily in the UK but expandable to other regions like Europe, assessing risk appetite and defining security solutions.

About You
Requirements & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will align closely with the following Suitably Qualified Security Specialist (SQSS) criteria outlined in BREEAM v7 2025 (Hea 08). You must meet at least one of the following:
- 3+ years of recent (last five years) experience in a relevant security professional role.
- A qualifying degree or equivalent (SVQ/NVQ level 5) in risk management, international security, crisis management, or a relevant technical domain.
- Full membership in a professional security institution with a code of conduct (e.g., The Security Institute as a Chartered Security Practitioner – CSyP or the Register of Security Engineers & Specialists as a General Security Advisor (GSA)).
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in security risk mitigation consultancy, demonstrated in:
- Technical excellence and leadership in security matters.
- Commercial adaptability to balance strategy, delivery, and client relationships.
- Effective management of teams and projects, including:
- Timelines, budgets, stakeholder coordination.
- Mitigating risk exposures deepened by threat, vulnerability, and operational design/operational risk analysis.
- Exceptional communication ability to simplify complex security concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences, with expertise in written reports, presentations, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Demonstrated adaptability to assess and solve physical and personnel security threats through targeted risk management strategies.
- Strong insights into protective security measures and holistic risk mitigation approaches.
- Cross-sector experience (preferably involving infrastructure, transport, or critical facility security) to deliver diverse projects.
- Alignment with a consultancy or advisory-led role or a hybrid of technical risk assessment and client service.
Preferred Considerations
- Experience with statistical or scenario-based risk modeling.
- Familiarity with international frameworks (BREEAM, ISO standards, or design collaborations).
Clearance Requirements
As part of this role, you will be required to obtain a UK Security Clearance (SC). Normally this would require:
- At least 5 years of continuous residency in the UK.
