Senior Security Consultant
Senior Security Engineer – Security Consultancy
Are you a Senior Security Consultant looking for an exciting new challenge?
Buro Happold is seeking a Senior Security Consultant with experience in the Built Environment to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary practice, where you can contribute to industry-leading designs.
You’ll deliver security consultancy and master planning, collaborating with teams across a range of projects in the UK and internationally. These include:
- Airports
- Sports stadia
- Entertainment & performance venues
- Higher education facilities
- Transport hubs
- Museums
- Advanced hi-tech facilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be client-facing and span a broad range of activities, including:
- Security consultancy
- Design
- Project management
- Operational security advice
- Business development
- Research & development
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to produce risk registers.
- Developing security strategies aligned with statutory requirements.
- Creating new design concepts while staying updated on emerging threats and industry trends.
- Providing high-level security advice to clients, including technology recommendations.
- Designing and delivering testing programmes and exercises to ensure security programme integrity.
- Mentoring graduate security consultants.
- Researching, writing, and implementing standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions for security operations.
- Producing protective security intelligence reports and assessments.

Skills & Experience
Essential:
- A qualification in Security and Risk Management, Crime & Criminology, or a related discipline.
- Chartered status (or working towards) with a relevant institution.
- Membership of one of the following:
- Security Institute (SyI)
- Association of Security Consultants (ASC)
- International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC)
- Proven experience in developing security strategies for diverse projects.
- Experience assessing security risks across varied sectors and geographies.
- Willingness to undergo security vetting where required by projects.
