Contract Project Security Consultant
Bristol HQ (Hybrid remote working)
Up to £76 p/h Inside IR35
SC clearance is essential
We are looking for an experienced Project Security Consultant to play a key role in ensuring security risks are identified, managed and effectively governed throughout the project lifecycle.
Working within complex, high-assurance environments, you will act as the primary security point of contact for projects, providing expert advice, guidance and assurance to project teams and senior stakeholders. You'll help ensure security requirements are embedded from project initiation through to delivery, supporting effective governance, risk management and compliance while promoting a strong security culture.
Key Skills
- Supporting project governance, including project boards, gate reviews, risk and issue management, action tracking and assurance activities.
- Managing security risks and maintaining project risk registers.
- Producing and maintaining security documentation, including Security Management Plans, Security Risk Registers and assurance evidence.
- Supporting compliance with contractual security requirements, audits and assurance reviews.
- Working with suppliers and third parties to assess and assure security compliance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, procurement and operational security.
- Supporting security incident management and understanding threat intelligence processes.
- Delivering security awareness or project-specific training.
- Promoting best practice, continuous improvement and a positive security culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the primary point of contact for all project security matters, providing expert advice and guidance to project teams and senior stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, record and manage project security risks, ensuring they are appropriately tracked, mitigated and escalated where necessary.
- Produce and maintain key security documentation, including Security Management Plans and Security Risk Registers, ensuring they remain current and aligned to project requirements.
- Support compliance with contractual, regulatory and organisational security requirements through governance, assurance and audit activities.
- Coordinate the collection of evidence for security reviews, assurance activities and project gate approvals.
- Validate supplier and third-party compliance with project security requirements, working alongside procurement and specialist security teams.
- Produce security reports, dashboards and KPIs for governance boards and senior stakeholders, communicating risks, issues and progress effectively.
