About This Team & Role
addons.mozilla.org (AMO) is the cornerstone of Firefox’s add-ons ecosystem, serving as a developer hub for publishing and growing browser extensions while offering millions of users a way to customize Firefox. Key components behind the ecosystem include:
- DevHub: A toolset for developers to manage their extensions.
- Reviewer tools & automated moderation systems: Supporting seamless operation and efficiency.
As a Senior Software Engineer – Operations, you’ll drive the development of resilient systems that accelerate our review and operational teams’ ability to deliver an exceptional experience for add-on developers. You’ll collaborate with engineers, reviewers, developer relations, and leadership to:
- Turn ideas into impactful features
- Modernize the platform architecture
- Ensure your work touches millions globally
What You’ll Do

- Lead major features and improvements across the add-ons stack, including:
- Automated moderation pipelines
- Reviewer tools

- Refine-dev tooling to enhance developer experiences

What You’ll Bring
Core Requirements
- Experience building modern web applications
- Proficiency with Python and Django, or related frameworks (e.g., Flask)
- Strong understanding of web security principles (OWASP Top 10, secure auth/z flows)
- Collaboration expertise in cross-team distributed environments
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, exploring and refining direction for new problems

Remote | £65,000—£87,000 GBP (base salary)
