Senior Security Engineer (Team Leader) | Leeds, UK | Home Based

A leading managed security services provider is looking for a Senior Security Engineer (Team Leader) to lead the technical and people side of a dedicated security team supporting a client in a regulated industry. This isn't a hands-off management role — you'll combine platform engineering ownership with technical leadership, acting as the primary escalation point for complex incidents and cross-platform issues, with a strong Microsoft Sentinel and Defender focus.

You'll line manage senior engineers and analysts, own architecture and configuration decisions across the security platform estate, and act as the senior technical interface between the analyst team, engineering function, and client leadership.

Why this role stands out:

  • Genuine ownership of platform architecture and engineering standards across a modern Microsoft-centric security stack
  • Blend of hands-on engineering and people leadership — you're never far from the tools, but you're shaping the team's direction
  • High-visibility role bridging analysts, engineering, and client security leadership in a regulated environment

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
