The pay range is $20.45 - $21.85 per hour, depending on level of experience.
This will be a Remote position.
The Role
The Senior Specialist of Self-Pay Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the self-pay collections process, including managing bad debt inventory and placements, acute and PRC inventory, and statement holds and volumes. This role involves ensuring accurate billing, improving collection strategies, and providing detailed analysis and reports to leadership.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare billing and collections, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to providing excellent quality for our clients.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage Self-Pay Accounts: Oversee the self-pay accounts receivable process to ensure accounts are moving through the self-pay life cycle as designed.
- Bad Debt Management: Handle bad debt inventory management, placements, and returns. Reconcile bad debt transactions and manage vendor recall requests.
- Acute and PRC Inventory Management: Oversee the management of acute and PRC (Physician Revenue Cycle) inventory.
- Deceased Account Review: Conduct reviews of deceased accounts to ensure proper handling and resolution.
- Statement Holds Review: Review and resolve statement holds to ensure timely billing and collections.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports on self-pay aging performance, including ATB (Aged Trial Balance) review summaries for leadership and external teams. Identify opportunities that impact aging self-pay AR (Accounts Receivable).
- Compliance: Ensure all billing and collections activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the self-pay operations team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in self-pay operations.

- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) required within 9 months of hire -Company Paid
Required Work Experience
- 1 to 3 Years
Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 2 Years/associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Microsoft Office experience
- Revenue Cycle knowledge
- Critical thinking
