About the Role and Department
IT Services is a comprehensive IT department supporting Essex Police and Kent Police across all technology platforms, systems, and services. Our mission is to deliver agile, efficient, and secure IT solutions through continuous investment in cutting-edge technology, driving operational excellence while upholding robust security standards.
We are seeking a Senior Service Delivery Analyst with expertise in supplier and contract management to join our Service Delivery Management Team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring optimal performance of IT services, supplier relationships, contractual compliance, and strategic contract renewals—critical to maintaining seamless operations for 13,000+ users across 130+ sites.
Key Responsibilities

Supplier Portfolio Management:
- Oversee a range of IT suppliers, ensuring services align with agreed SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations.
- Evaluate supplier performance, service trends, and incident data, taking corrective action to enhance service quality.

Contract Lifecycle Oversight:
- Lead contract renewals, extensions, and terminations, ensuring service continuity without interruption.
- Maintain accurate documentation (e.g., contracts, SLAs, invoices) within systems like Hornbill.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work with Procurement, Finance, and business units to ensure contracts are legal, value-driven, and compliant.
- Facilitate monetary transactions (purchase orders, invoicing, and payments).

Performance and Improvement Initiatives:
- Identify service trends and improvement opportunities to optimise supplier performance.
- Produce detailed performance reports and track actioned recommendations.

- Risk & Compliance Assurance:
- Assess technical assurance, service criticality, and complexity in supplier engagements.
- Support contract tender processes, ensuring competitive pricing and fair value.
Essential Requirements
Your application must demonstrate evidence of the following:
- Experience in supplier and contract management (public/private sector preferred).
- Ability to analyse and interpret performance data to drive informed decisions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills (internal/external) and clear communication.
- Practical knowledge of ITIL processes (callback service management, incident handling, etc.).
- Experience within a regulated or public sector environment (police/compliance preferred).
- Understanding of procurement and audit procedures.
Where You’ll Fit in the Organisation
You’ll report to the Service Delivery and Supplier Management Team Leader within the core Support/Operations team of IT Services—a backstage vital to 1st line helpdesk, 2nd line technical support, outages crisis management, and 3rd line architecture-level problem-solving.
The broader IT department spans critical functions such as: ✅ 24/7 Support Operations (serving ~13,000 users via 1+ labour ce 14000 devices) ✅ IT Security to safeguard asset and personal data ✅ Service Management (end-to-end process optimisation) ✅ Business Analysis & Project Management to innovate infrastructure and platforms ✅ Physical and Virtual Clouds underpinning internal/external systems
