Senior Service Designer – Contract – UK Government Client
About the Client
Our client is a UK Government client, currently investing in the digital transformation of its public-facing services. This is an opportunity to work on meaningful, citizen-facing digital services within the public sector.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Service Designer to join a public sector digital team on an initial 3-month contract, starting ASAP. You'll play a key role in shaping how services are designed and delivered, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to drive improvements to the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate co-design workshops with stakeholders and users.
- Map current and future-state service journeys.
- Develop service blueprints, personas, and experience maps.
- Contribute to information architecture decisions.
- Design accessible user experiences and interaction designs that promote adoption of digital services and support channel shift.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and coach others effectively within a complex environment.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Service Designer, ideally within public sector or government settings.
- GDS (Government Digital Service) experience essential.
- Track record of landing into complex environments and quickly adding value.
- Highly skilled in co-design, journey mapping, service blueprinting, and information architecture.
- Strong communicator with the ability to coach and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Available to interview and start at short notice.

Contract Details
- Rate: £540/day
- Duration: Initial 3-month contract
- Clearance: BPSS only
- Location: North East England, on-site every 2 weeks (hybrid)
