Job Title: Senior Service & Product Designer (Banking Platform Ecosystem)
Location: Glasgow, United Kingdom (Hybrid – 1 to 2 days onsite per week)
Job Type: Contract (3–6 Months, Extension Possible)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Service & Product Designer to lead the redesign of complex banking and financial services ecosystems. This role requires a strategic designer with strong systems-thinking capabilities who can improve how trading, settlement, risk, compliance, and operations functions work together across interconnected platforms.

The ideal candidate has experience delivering transformation initiatives within regulated environments, designing end-to-end services rather than standalone products, and leveraging AI tools to enhance research, ideation, and design processes. You will collaborate with business leaders, technology teams, operations, compliance, and product stakeholders to design scalable, efficient, and user-centered solutions that drive organizational change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of complex service and product ecosystems across banking and financial services platforms.
- Map and analyze end-to-end user journeys, operational processes, and system interactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, data sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct and synthesize research across multiple stakeholder groups to uncover business and user needs.
- Create service blueprints, experience maps, workflows, interaction designs, and future-state operating models.
- Design solutions that balance user experience, business objectives, technical feasibility, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with engineering, product, compliance, risk, and operations teams to drive solution alignment.
- Utilize AI tools to support research synthesis, concept exploration, design validation, and stakeholder communications.
- Facilitate workshops and present design recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Contribute to design systems, governance frameworks, and best practices that scale across the organization.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Service Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Service Design, Product Design, UX Design, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience leading transformation programs involving complex, interconnected platforms or services.
- Strong background within Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, Capital Markets, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including business, technology, operations, compliance, and risk teams.
- Demonstrated success in delivering strategic design initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) as part of the design and research process is highly desirable.
