Senior SHE Manager

National

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager to lead and drive our SHE strategy across operations. This is a critical leadership role responsible for embedding a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering continuous improvement across all SHE performance metrics.

The successful candidate will be a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH), demonstrating a recognised level of professional competence and leadership within the SHE discipline. Proven experience within the energy sector is essential, with a strong understanding of the unique risks, regulatory frameworks, and operational challenges associated with this industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of SHE policies, standards, and procedures aligned with organisational and regulatory requirements
  • Provide expert SHE guidance and leadership across all levels of the business
  • Drive a proactive safety culture, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and energy sector regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective actions
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, contractors, and operational teams

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • CMIOSH (Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) – essential
  • Demonstrable SHE leadership experience within the energy sector – essential
  • Strong knowledge of UK SHE legislation and industry standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable SHE performance improvements

About The Energy Business Unit

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying, and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair, and refurbishment services.
