Senior SHEQ Advisor

Location: London, United Kingdom Contract: Permanent Working Pattern: Full-Time Renumeration Indicator: Competitive salary plus company vehicle, and pension. Remuneration for this role is benchmarked competitively within the Infrastructure and energy sector, and sits within our C band, reflecting the seniority and scope of the position.
The Opportunity
Join us as a SHEQ Advisor and play a key role in driving Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality excellence across major power projects in London, providing expert leadership, guidance, and training to teams at all levels to ensure safe, compliant, and high-performing project delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Protect people and ensure safe working environments across all OCU operations by driving compliance with company policies, client requirements, and statutory health and safety obligations.
- Strengthen safety performance by providing expert advice, guidance, and leadership on SHEQ standards across multiple live power projects.
- Improve reporting accuracy and legal compliance by ensuring all incidents, accidents, and dangerous occurrences are correctly recorded and escalated in line with RIDDOR requirements.
- Drive contractor and site safety excellence by monitoring working practices and ensuring all parties meet required health, safety, and welfare standards.
- Uphold accountability for safe behaviour on site by addressing unsafe practices promptly and recommending appropriate corrective or disciplinary actions where required.
- Enhance workplace safety culture by actively promoting near-miss reporting and embedding continuous improvement in safety behaviours across teams.
- Ensure safe and compliant site environments by monitoring welfare facilities and driving improvements where standards fall below expectations.
- Support consistent SHEQ standards across all project locations by working flexibly across UK sites in line with business needs.

Essential
- NCRQ level 6 / NVQ level 6 / NEBOSH diploma
- Previous experience working in the utilities sector (Power sector preferred)
- Experience working in DNOs and IDNOs
- EUSR or CSCS in General Health and Safety
- Proficient in compiling reports
- Full UK Driving License
Desirable
- Previous experience Working within Live Substations
- Experience working with management systems and the NERS Accreditation
