The Role

As our portfolio of innovative products continues to grow, we're expanding our Mechanical Engineering team.

We are looking for a Senior Simulation & FEA Engineer to join our R&D department in Weymouth.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced simulation specialist to play a key role in the development of advanced printing and factory automation solutions. You'll provide expert simulation and finite element analysis (FEA) support throughout the product development lifecycle, helping to solve complex engineering challenges through technical expertise, innovation and analytical thinking.

Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and global simulation colleagues, you'll influence product design decisions, validate concepts, optimise performance and ensure robust, reliable solutions are delivered to our customers.

You Will:

  • Lead and perform advanced finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation activities for new product development.
  • Support the mechanical design of complex electromechanical systems through simulation-led engineering.
  • Carry out structural, thermal, vibration, fatigue and nonlinear analyses using industry-leading CAE tools.
  • Correlate simulation results with physical testing and validation activities.
  • Develop simulation strategies that improve product performance, reliability and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers across the Mechanical Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with global simulation teams to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support design reviews and provide expert recommendations based on engineering analysis.
  • Work within NX CAD, PLM and simulation workflows to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement across our product development processes.

About You

You are an experienced Mechanical Simulation Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering problems through analysis and innovation. You have excellent technical judgement, enjoy working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and are passionate about delivering robust engineering solutions.

You Will Have

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Structural or a related Engineering discipline (or equivalent industrial experience).
  • Significant experience in simulation-led product development and finite element analysis.
  • Strong expertise using Simcenter Nastran, ANSYS or equivalent FEA software.
  • Experience of linear and nonlinear structural analysis, thermal analysis, modal and vibration studies, transient and fatigue analysis.
  • Knowledge of meshing strategies, solver configuration and convergence studies.
  • Experience working with NX CAD (or similar) and PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience correlating simulation results with physical testing.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence engineering decisions.
  • A proactive approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional registration.
  • Experience of Multiphysics simulation and coupled-field analysis.
  • Knowledge of tolerance analysis and design optimisation techniques.
  • SAP experience.
