Senior Simulation Software & Security Engineer Company: Boeing United Kingdom Limited | Boeing Global Services
Boeing Global Services SW Engineering provides leadership in custom software development, engineering, and technical services across the aerospace industry, including training solutions. Join the Commercial Simulation Binary team as a Senior Simulation Software & Security Engineer, delivering both high-quality simulation development and critical iOS security architecture.
This is a locally hired position based in Crawley, with 100% onsite attendance required. Pay and benefits are influenced by local packages and are not tied to Boeing's U.S. pay structures.
Position Responsibilities

Native C++ Codebase Ownership & Maintenance
- Design, develop, review, and deploy high-quality, cross-platform C++ code for Windows, Linux, and iOS.
- Manage the full development lifecycle: feature development, bug fixes, refactoring, performance tuning, and continuing maintenance.

Technical Infrastructure & Automation
- Build, strengthen, and debug automated build systems & CI/CD pipelines to enhance reliability, expedite build times, and ensure cross-platform reproducible builds.
- Collaborate with DevOps to develop and maintain cross-platform tooling, including:
- Code generation
- Packaging
- Signing
- Deployment
- Release automation.

Security Architecture & Protection
- Design, implement, and enforce security architecture for a complex iOS application, integrating Unreal Engine and native C++ layers:
- Integrity checks, jailbreak detection, and anti-debug techniques
- Protection against reverse engineering, unauthorized extraction, and tampering via hardening, obfuscation, and dynamic protections.
- Establish secure interfaces between Unreal Engine and native libraries with:
- Least-privilege principles
- Robust input validation
- Securely handle downloaded content and runtime data.
- Design, implement, and enforce security architecture for a complex iOS application, integrating Unreal Engine and native C++ layers:

Security Practices & Compliance
- Assess and vet third-party security libraries, frameworks, and protection tools.
- Enhance security in build, signing, and release pipelines, ensuring validated cloud authentication & token handling.
- Manage security logging, telemetry, and data controls, detecting adversarial activities.
- Conduct security validation activities, including:
- Static/dynamic analysis
- Fuzzing
- Reverse-engineering assessments

- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers and encouraging adherence to engineering best practices.
- Balance security, performance, maintainability, and user experience for defined success criteria.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in a relevant STEM discipline: engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Proficient in modern C/C++, with expertise in low-level programming, clean code principles, and cross-platform development.
- Hands-on experience with secure iOS application design and architectural decisions.
- Cryptographic security principles with hands-on experience in:
- Key management
- Secure communications
- iOS security hardening applied to sensitive store-based data handling.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
- iOS/macOS native development experience.
- Knowledge of mobile packaging & deployment, including:
- IPA creation
- Code signing procedures
- Familiarity with:
- Unit testing frameworks and test automation tools.
- Mobile & desktop application security best practices.
- Build caching & distributed build pipeline architectures.
- Technical confidence in:
- Debugging, profiling, and profiling tools.
- Advanced performance optimization strategies.
- Multithreaded programming, memory management techniques.
- Familiar with large-scale codebases and multiple toolchains for cross-platform development.
- Experience in security-focused analytical techniques, including:
- Static/dynamic code analysis
- Fuzzing & adversarial testing.
- Evidenced research into:
- Guard against reverse engineering & memory exploitation.
- Jailbreaking detection and anti-tamper mechanisms.
- Professional exposure to secure cloud authentication & token workflows, and data-in-transit protection.
