Exciting Opportunity: Specialist Nurse in Tissue Viability and Continence
This is an exciting opportunity to support the development and growth of a continence service within the Acute sector, bridging the gap between Acute and community care with our patients at the heart of the service.
Role Description
The post holder will work as a specialist nurse within the Tissue Viability and Continence team, assessing patients with complex continence needs, providing expert knowledge and clinical care to patients within the acute setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist skills in relation to triage, assessment, treatment, and management of bladder and bowel dysfunction.
- Provide specialist advice, education, and support to health care professionals and members of the general public.
- Support and implement quality improvement initiatives alongside the lead for Tissue Viability and Continence and the lead for the Specialist pelvic health team.
- Act as the key worker and manage a caseload of inpatients as appropriate within the specialty, delivering individualized and personalized direct patient care.
- Provide clinical expertise and specialist advice across the whole spectrum of the service.
- Develop and maintain the competencies and skills needed to practice effectively ensuring up-to-date clinical Continence knowledge on key developments, interpreting and applying knowledge to practice through education and consultation with colleagues and patients.
- Undertake continued professional development and maintain a written record.
