Location: London and surrounding areas, with travel to healthcare sites across the UK as required
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About BlueLight Management
BlueLight Management specialises in the delivery of construction and refurbishment projects within complex operational environments, particularly across the healthcare sector.
Operating under a Construction Management delivery model, BlueLight Management acts as Construction Manager and Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. We do not directly undertake construction works. Instead, we manage, coordinate and supervise specialist trade contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager (Construction Management) to lead the day-to-day delivery of construction projects within live healthcare environments.
This is a senior site-based role focused on contractor management, health and safety compliance, programme delivery and quality assurance. The successful candidate will act as BlueLight Management's primary representative on site, ensuring that multiple trade contractors work safely, collaboratively and in accordance with project requirements.
Working closely with the Project Management team, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and with minimal disruption to operational healthcare facilities.
This role is primarily based across London and the South East, although travel to projects throughout the UK will be required from time to time.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership and Contractor Management
- Manage and coordinate all site-based activities undertaken by trade contractors.
- Act as BlueLight Management's senior representative on site.
- Supervise and coordinate multiple trade contractors working concurrently within live healthcare environments.
- Ensure contractors work in accordance with approved programmes, specifications and construction methodologies.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity and resource levels.
- Manage contractor interfaces and resolve sequencing, access and logistical challenges.
- Coordinate site logistics, welfare facilities, deliveries and access arrangements.
- Chair site coordination meetings and daily briefings.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries and progress reports.
- Escalate programme, quality and safety concerns where appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
