A leading UK main contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Site Manager to join the team on a flagship £20 million university project in Exeter.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering this major design and build scheme, leading site operations from construction through to successful completion while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and programme.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the Project Manager with the successful delivery of a major design and build project
  • Managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards
  • Leading site teams, subcontractors and specialist trades throughout the construction process
  • Coordinating labour, materials, plant and subcontractors to achieve programme milestones
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
  • Monitoring quality standards, carrying out inspections and managing snagging and defects
  • Working closely with design, commercial and procurement teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Producing site documentation, reports and progress updates
  • Mentoring and developing junior members of the site management team
  • Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience as a Senior Site Manager or experienced Site Manager with a main contractor
  • Proven track record delivering design and build construction projects
  • Experience working on Education, Higher Education or Ministry of Justice projects would be advantageous
  • SMSTS and CSCS Card are essential (First Aid qualification would be advantageous)
