Senior Social Care Worker - Supervisor
This unique and compassionate role is responsible for providing support to individuals across various settings. The primary focus is on maintaining high standards of care to empower individuals to live well using their strengths, skills, life community, personal gifts and networks.
About the Role
The ** Senior Social Care Worker - Supervisor** ensures:
- Individuals receive high standards of care and support adhering to relevant legislation and national guidelines.
- Person-centred support is implemented consistently.
- A positive care ethos promoting independence within personal capabilities and fostering outcomes for care users.
Core Responsibilities
Managing and improving service delivery includes:
- Supervision and development of staff.
- Person-centred planning facilitation to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensuring care aligns with individuals' health and wellbeing needs.
Key Domain
The Children and Young People’s Residential Care (including Short Breaks) and Through Care and After Care (TCAC) services are part of the Children’s Social Work Service under Children’s Services Directorate.
Objectives
- Provide a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people.
- Ensure security and valuing individuals through supportive growth in physical and emotional development.
- Realise their life potential, especially for those who have experienced trauma.

Additional Details
Post Location & Conditions
- Based at Laburnum House, Lerwick
- Grade I/J, permanent full-time position (30-37 hours/week)
- Salary is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance of £2,997.annually (prorated)
- Practice-based contract minimum of 30 hrs/week
