Salary: £40,777 - £46,142 | Contract: Permanent | Location: Preston
About the Role
Join Living Better Lives, Lancashire’s innovative strengths-based vision for Adult Social Care. We’re recruiting a Senior Social Worker to help us deliver our mission of supporting adults with mental health needs to achieve what matters most to them—living independently in a place they call home.
Our approach is built on collaboration and co-production, working closely with partners, carers, and the individuals we support to create meaningful, personalised outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide person-centred, strengths-based social work support to adults with mental health needs
- Work integrated teams with health agencies to promote recovery, reduce delays, and enable safe transitions
- Make confident, evidence-based decisions and manage risks effectively
- Supervise and mentor qualified Social Workers as they progress in their roles
- Contribute to the implementation of innovative practice aligned with our Living Better Lives vision
- Support individuals in achieving their goals—ensuring they are valued, respected, and empowered

Important Note: This role welcomes applications from those not yet Approved Mental Health Practitioners (AMHPs)—we will fully support your qualification and transition to the AMHP rota upon completion.
Requirements
• Registered with Social Work England (SWE) (or eligible to register) • Minimum of 2-3 years’ post-qualifying experience in adult social care or mental health • Prior experience in strengths-based or recovery-focused practice • Excellent decision-making, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills • Strong collaborative and co-production mindset • Willingness to embrace continuous professional development
